spring retina update

The Retina Institute held its first Spring Retina Update in 2015.  The course was designed for eye care professionals to learn about recent clinical advances in the diagnosis and management of eye diseases as well as advances in ophthalmic research.  Optometrists, ophthalmologists and technicians all benefited from this educational opportunity.

The first meeting included updates on the management of age-related macular degeneration, vein occlusions, retinal detachment repair and plaquenil toxicity.  Case presentations and panel discussions were also part of the program with all of the physicians of The Retina Institute participating in the meeting.

In 1984, the David and Mary Seslen Endowment Fund helped establish the Retina Research & Development Foundation Visiting Professor Lecture Series.  For over the last 30 years, this venture has brought authorities in the field of ophthalmology to St. Louis for the purpose of educating local physicians.  Their topical discussions about recent clinical advances, cutting-edge ophthalmic research and advances in the diagnosis and management of eye disease highlight the Midwest Ophthalmologic Symposium.

RRDF Trivia night

In 2007, the employees of The Retina Institute organized an annual trivia night to benefit the Retina Research & Development Foundation.  It's been a fun way to raise funds for the foundation.  To date, over $50,000 has been raised by the event.  As important, the fundraiser brings awareness to the mission of RRDF and unites the staff, physicians and community for an evening of entertainment.

CANCELED

Due to the coronavirus threat, we postponed/canceled the 14th Annual Trivia Night scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2020

At this time, we have no immediate plans to reschedule.

We will post updates as they develop.
